2023 Great Australian Bites, Brisbane

Riverside Green at South Bank Parklands came alive with pop-up stalls serving up delicious food from popular vendors, while home-grown performers hit the stage for a dynamic program of music and family-friendly fun to keep everyone entertained!

 

This year’s Great Australian Bites event boasted an incredible line-up of diverse Queensland talent including The 7 Sopranos, Voices of Birralee and Sunnybank Brass Band. The crowd shook things up with Afro-Cuban salsa ensemble Chukale, enjoyed the eclectic sound of Tibet2Timbuk2, experienced the richness of Arabic musical traditions with Shanasheel Arabic Ensemble, and danced to the sounds of Joe Tee & Afrodisa Band. Renowned First Nations singer-songwriter Joe Geia rounded out the program captivating audiences with his guitar and didgeridoo.

Everyone enjoyed fresh local produce and delicious food from favourite pop-up food vendors including nachos from Mucho Mexicano, paella from Ole and Turkish doughnuts from Lokmaa, refreshing bubble or iced tea from the Iced Tea Co and a smoothie from Safari Smoothie Co. Tastebuds were satisfied with cuisine from Vici Italian, an Aussie gourmet BBQ from Hop & Pickle, souvlaki and mezze platters from Greek Recipe and dumplings from Asian Dumpling House, just to name a few!

Great Australian Bites Brisbane was presented by the Queensland Government in partnership with the National Australia Day Council and proudly supported by the Hit Network and Triple M. The event was produced  by Cre8ion.
